WINNIPEG businessman John Buhler received a standing ovation this morning at the Morden Collegiate Institute auditorium after it was announced he will donate $5 million to build a theatre complex at the school.
The Buhler Performing Arts Centre is expected to be completed in three years
at an estimated cost of $6 million to $7 million.
The theatre complex will also include four classrooms for band, choir and
theatre courses as well as vocational programs such as stage lighting and
sound. The vocational programs will be offered to students from a wide-area
of southern Manitoba.
The theatre itself will seat 650 to 700 people.
Buhler grew up in Morden.
